“ What a special and unique place. The view here is spectacular made better by this beautiful cafe. We loved the banana and date loaf, Bakewell tart, vegan sausage roll and pumpkin spiced latte (in a pumpkin mug!) Only a 50 min drive from Manchester totally worth the trip! Lovely staff, decor and atmosphere. ”
“ A great place for coffee and cake as reward for our walk. A nice variety of cakes and coffee and teas. Also some delicious looking pasties and pies. They also do ice creams Staff are really friendly very informative. Really worth a visit. ”
“ Probably my favourite cafe ever for all the reasons. The setting is a big one but the decor is really special, the food just great and generous pot of tea - will ask for Yorkshire tea next time as I prefer my tea stronger but that applies to nearly every cafe I’ve ever drank in. Hope you have the best summer. Thanks for warming us up on a hailstone day. See you again ”
“ Hobb's cafe overlooksa wonderful panorama and has quite a history of providing refreshment at Monsal Head - now primarily to cyclists and walkers on the Monsal Trail ( up to 8.5 miles between Bakewell and Wye Dale) and a number of other routes. It previously served to house those overseeing the building of the railway on that route, then an estate gamekeeper lived there. It now provides home made lunches and teas including oatcake and quiche with great filling flavours. It also hosts a small art and craft gift shop with a wide range of cards, some local maps / souvenirs and a range of good quality gifts. A lovely place to visit, even if you're not on one of the many footpaths and bridleways that can lead there. ”
“ Fantastic place, great food went back both days and great service. Quality of food and ingredients was excellent. Bacon was the best I e had, all locally sourced. Value for money , a must stop for travellers. Amazing view and stop on Monday trail , owner and staff professional and really helpful to guests, lovely roaring fire. ”
“ A must visit if passing or visiting Monsal Head. Super friendly and professional staff, food and service always first class. After this visit I can highly recommend their coffee and homemade bakewell tarts. Outdoor seating has an incredible panorama. ”
“ Disguised as a row of cottages behind the Monsal Dale Hotel, this cafe is quite visually interesting and quirky inside. I had never realised that it is a cafe until today as there's no obvious signage. The service is excellent and friendly and the building itself has a cheery feel to it. There was a steady stream of customers while I was there. It's not surprising because many people visit to admire the spectacular scenery and walk the Monsal Trail. I had gone to try to get some images of the area, but unfortunately, the light was very bad, so I did what you do in such circumstances and went for coffee. ”
